With Sensi, You Don't Have to Choose Between Privacy and Smart Comfort
Despite the convenience and energy-savings benefits, concerns regarding data privacy remain a significant barrier to widespread adoption of smart products like smart thermostats. In fact, a recent study found that 72% of smart home product owners are concerned with the security of the personal data collected by their devices. Sensi recently spoke with ACHR NEWS, one of the HVACR industry’s most trusted publications, on how contractors can help ease customer concerns regarding smart thermostats and data privacy. Here’s what Brendan O’Toole, vice president, Sensi product platform at Copeland, had to say:
“Contractors can ease customer concerns by relaying that when it comes to data and personal information, smart thermostats leverage trusted industry standards and proven encryption and security techniques to ensure customer data is safe.”
Sensi only shares data with a third party at the request of the user, such as a demand response with the user’s utility provider. Additionally, Sensi does not monitor customers or attempt to make decisions about their comfort for them based on their data. You choose for yourself and your desired comfort levels.
Leading analytics firm Frost & Sullivan recently applauded Copeland for its ability to enable data protection, privacy and cost savings for its customers by awarding Copeland with its 2023 North American Company of the Year Award. A representative at Frost & Sullivan had this to say about Copeland and the award:
“Copeland, with its Sensi smart thermostats, has a long history of pioneering the HVAC industry with unmatched capabilities in engineering, design and innovation.
