Why did I get the message “Insufficient data to report system usage?”
With our usage reports, you can receive monthly e-mails that includes system data detailing how long your heating and/or cooling systems have run.
If your thermostat was offline for 20% or more during that month, you will see an error message on your report: Insufficient data to report system usage. This means that we do not have enough data to accurately report your system run time.

Did you recently install your thermostat?
If you just installed your thermostat last month, you may not have enough data for a complete report.
Did you move and no longer have a Sensi?
If you moved, and forgot to remove your thermostat from your account, you can still do so. Here’s how:
- From the Sensi app, tap on the thermostat name.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap About Thermostat.
- Scroll down and “remove thermostat.”
- This takes the thermostat off your account, and you’ll no longer receive emails from Sensi
Did you have a power outage?
If your power outages were long enough altogether, your thermostat would have fallen offline, and it would affect your run time statistics.
Did you lose internet access?
If you put your internet on a vacation hold, or lost internet connection for a few days, your thermostat would have fallen offline, and it would affect your run time statistics.
Did you get a new router and need to reconnect Sensi to a new Wi-Fi network?
If you got a new router, you need to reconnect Sensi to your new Wi-Fi network. Once it’s reconnected, you’ll be able to control it from the Sensi app again. Please check out our website article for instructions on how to reconnect your specific Sensi model:
Reconnect your Sensi Thermostat to Wi-Fi.
Is your thermostat offline often?
